Hello, everyone. My name is Jonathan, and I like to write stories. What type of story depends largely on my mood and imagination. It also tends to correspond with what I'm reading. If I'm reading Stephen King, for instance, I will have ideas for a thriller/horror type story. If I could identify a weakness, I mainly have problems with being satisfied with the words I've just written. I tend to go back and edit something I don't particularly like, even when I haven't finished the first draft. This looks like a terrific forum, and I can't wait to interact with you.
That's a weakness, all right, but it's one we all share to some degree. Once you learn to turn the editor off, you'll make faster progress. I forget who said "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." But that person was right. Keep writing. Write a lot. And reflect that what you're writing now isn't going to be as good as what you'll be writing once you've had some practice, so don't obsess about what it looks like now. Save it for the better stuff you'll be writing a year or two from now.
I'm very much like you. You'll find that the people are are incredibly welcoming and have done wonders to my work so far
That is a brilliant quote. I will keep this in mind as I write. Thanks! From what I've read so far, there is a great community here of people wanting to help their fellow writers. I'm glad that they helped you!
