It seems that I registered on here years ago and then didn't do anything and forgot all about it until I recently tried to set up an account on here and I found my email had previously been used, so I tried logging in and here I am. I used to enjoy creating stories when I was a preteen, but over the years, my imagination and writing got dulled down and I haven't written since I left school all those years ago. Over the past few years, I have had a basic idea for a story, but despite ignoring it and going through some life issues, it remains at the back of my mind refusing to vanish. Have decided to give it a shot. Im not sure how I will get on with it, but I'm getting the old laptop ready for using to write on.
Hello and welcome, looking forward to seeing you in the forums. You've come to the right place for support and encouragement and I wish you luck on your rekindled journey! Are you from the Scottish Highlands?
Back in 2012, I travelled to the Highlands with four of my nieces (aged 16-23 at the time) and loved it. (I live in Canada). I'll never forget the otherworldly beauty as we entered by Glencoe. All our jaws just dropped. The Highlands left a big impression on me.
The highlands are certainly beautiful, but it can get pretty bleak too. I prefer to hibernate. but I still have to mingle with other humans to get shopping done. So I like to reward myself with a treat.
Welcome, I’m down in the south west now but my mother’s family are from the western isles originally, lots of McPhee and MacDonalds in the family tree. I don like it up there but I bet it’s cold at the minute?
I'm the opposite. I'm from the south east but moved to the highlands. Yes I am crazy considering I really hate the cold lol.
I would have to say that being a writer, made that clear. Writing requires we be a bit crazy. Struggling with plots, characters, editing, all takes a special kind of crazy. Not to mention the joys of dealing with publishers and rejection letters.
