Hi hi, nice to meet you all! I'm atomic.cactus, you can call me Cactus or Rose or Ras, whatever sounds good to you. I used to do nano back in the day, then took a break for a number of years, and came back to find controversy! drama! no more forums! So I've been looking for a new place to hang out with other writers for a little while, and this looks like it's far and away the best option. Very glad to have found it. I like to describe my writing experience as "I've written 3 and 4-half novels so far, all of them bad." (Although actually one of the half novels wasn't completely bad, and I may finish it one day.) But hope springs eternal, and I've got a new idea burning a hole in my brain. It's a retelling of an early sci-fi/fantasy novel written in the 1600s, and I'm going to do my best to do it justice. I have 10 chapters outlined so far, and just need to do a few more before I can start writing in earnest. I will probably be asking your advice on various matters. My goal in writing is to do the best I can, and to create something that makes me feel while I'm writing it. So again, nice to meet you all, give me your hands if we be friends, and cactus shall restore amends.
Welcome to WF.org, atomic (I think that works)! Get stuck in, look out for the ungulates and enjoy! Looking forwards to your contributions.
Hello Rose! Welcome to WF.org. Lovely intro you wrote and I always find it fun seeing enthusiastic and engaging writers keen to pick up the pen again. DO post any questions you have, there will be many clever people who can offer their views and experiences to help answer the problems troubling you! I do like this. An open mind to learning is what I feel brings the best out of people. Hope to read some of your work soon! And welcome again!
Hello and welcome Ras, you've come to the right place for lots of support in your writing journey! I can totally relate to the "unfinished" work. Maybe you'd like to enter one of the writing contests to get your feet wet again? Looking forward to seeing you in the forums!
Thank you, and my current project actually will contain some goats. Thank you, I'll hopefully do so before too long. I'm not fond of short stories, so probably not , but thanks for the suggestion and looking forward to being here.
