Hello. I'm a published Author, I actually managed to get published earlier this year! [link deleted by moderator] However, I don't have many connections to the industry - almost entirely self-taught. I DID take some correspondence courses, back in the day, through ICL. But as far as higher education that's about all I have. So I'm here to learn what I can about writing and publishing, and maybe pick up some connections. I enjoy lots of fiction. Mostly Sci-Fi and Fantasy, though I am willing to read just about anything. My personal writing is more sci-fi than anything else, probably. I'm ready to learn! Let's improve together!
Well, I had an outright sci-fi that I worked on for several years, but the one I published was a writing exercise that grew out of control - it's a sci-fi superhero story? I blinked and I had eighty words, so I thought I might as well finish it. And now it looks like it'll be a series or something... Not what I planned on making, but it ended up pretty good I think.
Hello and welcome from Australia*, Racheakt. Fantasy, eh? What type of fantasy do you write - humorous fantasy, a la Terry Pratchett and so on? Or straight fantasy, like Tolkien? ________________ * Yup - the Land Down Under, full of bronzed Aussies, Killer Giant Spiders, Killer Giant Sharks, Killer Snakes, Bloodthirsty Drop Bears, and Killer Sheep. We think the Platypuses (Platypodes?) are also planning to kill us in our sleep. But we're not sure. We're keeping on eye on the bastards, just in case. And don't arsk us about the bloody emus.
