    Coming out of my cave...

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Partridge, May 30, 2017.

    Hello all,

I've joined here to chat with some like-minded people and hopefully improve.

I'm already a published writer - but in the field of non-fiction, writing for a few car magazines as a sideline. But I've packed that in (the "talent pool" of automotive writers is quite a petty, poisonous and incestuous one) and have turned my attention back to novels.

I'm having a serious go at publishing a humorous novel. Right now, it's on 20k words.

Looking forwards to getting to know some other writers.

Greetings, welcome, and salutations to the Forum, sir. :superhello:

That is a strange motor pool you have walked from...
Plenty of lovely people around here, with many a good word and opinion. :)

Good luck with your Comedy Novel, and I will C-ya around.

Thanks for you welcome, chaps. It is a strange pool indeed, Cave Troll - worthy of a novel actually.

Glad there's a Partridge fan here, Tenderiser. I'd like to say I'm escaping him, but according to my alleged friends I AM him. Can you escape yourself?

I'm pretty sure most of the forum pictures me as Rik Mayall. We could get some kind of Britcom LARPing group going!

Oh I'm up for that. Imagine Alan Partridge meeting Ritchie Rich and Eddy.

    Welcome to it!

Many of us in this forum find our way here having come from some other facet of writing, so you're in good company. The description you gave of your prior gig sounds all too familiar. :bigconfused: My own day job is quite the show of pious holier-than-thouing and jovian egos. It does make for great character scaffolding sometimes. :bigwink: Silver linings and all that.

You'll have gotten a PM from me upon joining. Give it at least a skim.

Welcome, friend. I just joined last night and I'm already convinced that this is one of the better forums for authors. Let me know if you want to chat.
