Hi, I'm kanri and I've been writing all my life. I mostly enjoy writing realistic fiction, adventure, and mystery short stories (since I can't get the energy to write full novels!) and poetry, but I enjoy experimenting with other genres. I really want to start a career with freelance writing and I'm hoping to publish a novel/book of poems some day. However, I'm really struggling with my self-esteem. I hate my writing and I have a hard time sharing it with other people. I abandon all my story ideas because they aren't good enough and it's becoming more of a chore than an enjoyable passion now. So I'm hoping to get some tips and inspiration and to rekindle my love for writing. Thanks for having me!
Glad to have you! Don't worry about hating your writing, everyone does form time-to-time. Just keep practicing, and it'll get better! Be patient, and it'll pay off Also, it's always nice to see a new poetry lover around here
hey kanri! meeso noo, too. I have been running around this site for a week or so, and it's awesome! I hated writing for fifty-years! Then it sorta caught me, it's got my leg... ! Ahem I furiously made notes, not knowing how to write, and now I'm here. This place is encouraging and inspiring. I'm learning a lot by just getting involved. You will, too!
