Hi All, I'm new here. I live in the UK, near Manchester. I'm currently writing 4 books simultaneously but not yet finished & published my first one. Does anyone on here have any experience in self publishing via Amazon? Regards Tom
Hi Thomas, and welcome to the forum! I am UK based - based in the South, but spend a fair bit of time up with family in the North (currently in West Yorks, will be in Cheshire next weekend...) We have a whole sub-forum dedicated to publishing -- https://www.writingforums.org/publishing/ -- and that, in turn, has a section on self-publishing. You might while away a happy hour or ten sifting through some of the threads in there, but if you have any specific questions, do ask!
One other thing, how long does a user need to be a part of this site in order to become a Moderator? Regards Tom
If Dorgland is anything like Dcomland, where I'm a moderator, I would just say this to you. Simply be an active and positive member of the community. Your activity will be noticed by the staff. When they have an opening and if they feel you've shown to be someone who they feel could be a fit on the staff, they'll contact you.
Yep that's pretty much the shape of it, it doesn't depend on time in service except that no one is going to appoint someone very new - its also a bit like the man who would be king... the guy or girl who's hopping up and down going me sir, me sir, me is very rarely going to be selected
Yeah, I never expressed interest when they approached me. But assisting those of you who found shelter with us for a bit did earn me an unexpected promotion, so that was cool. I get a hammer to go with the forktruck.
I only got made a mod because the other mods thought it would be funny to give the ban-hammer to a member called @Hammer
And here I was led to believe you guys had no sense of humor over here. Yeesh. Talk about false advertising.
