I’m a 15 years old homeschooling student who likes writing but somehow not really interested in reading (currently) I usually write in English classes or for English assignments, but I am planning to write more in my free times. My favorite book (for now) is No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai. As I mentioned before, I don’t really enjoy reading, and I am also EXTREMELY picky, so I didn’t read or finish much books. But I am trying hard to find a book that fits me. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE recommend me some books!!! I like dark stories, something like No Longer Human. I am not a native speaker, so grammar mistakes and weird sentences (?) are frequently founded in my writings. Please correct me, it will be VERYYY helpful!! I really wish my new interest can grow, and also improve my English and writing skills here!✊
Hello ! Welcome here (dare I say so myself as a new member). "found" is the past tense of "find", "founded" is the past tense of "found" (to setup, to start) ... yes, can be confusing !
Most writers are readers. It is through reading that we learn and improve our craft. The structure of a good story is fairly well defined. Whether you follow a specific method for developing your story, or fly by the seat of your pants, is really upto you. But you do need to learn how to hook your reader in the beginning, and how to hold their interest as the story progresses.
