    Nursery Songs?

    Discussion in 'Research' started by klk.yangon, Dec 29, 2011.

    I need a nursery song for my front page of my novel. Not something so conventional as 'Bah Bah Blacksheep' but something unique and archaic. Any idea?

    It would help to know what the novel is about.

    Old King Cole

    Good King Cole,
    And he call'd for his Bowle,
    And he call'd for Fidler's three;
    And there was Fiddle, Fiddle,
    And twice Fiddle, Fiddle,
    For 'twas my Lady's Birth-day,
    Therefore we keep Holy-day
    And come to be merry.[1]

    This. I'm guessing you want the nursery rhyme to relate to your novel in some way, right?

    ditto that!... there are too many to choose from and if it doesn't relate to your novel, it won't make any sense... so give us a 'logline' for a clue, at least...

    The man is picking his children up from their school... he hears the happy songs from the nursery... he relates the songs to what his childhood experiences were and was sad he never had the chance to sing the songs... he was born just before the World War... he relates how lucky his children could be... travels to the past... blah blah blah
