    Bonjour!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by inkblot, Oct 10, 2007.

    Hello everybody!
I've been coming here and reading for a few time, and I realized that it was time to introduce myself.
I live in France and I try to write short stories - in French naturally, though I sometimes write in English or translate some of my French babbling!
I like this forum, especially because people honestly tell each other what they think about their writing, and I hope I'll soon be able to post one of my English language text - without being too ashamed of it -
In the meantime, I keep on reading and giving my strange foreign point of view on the writings I come across!

    See you around!

Hello and welcome - as you are starting to realise we have a nice community here and I would like to think people are honest in their reviews. Ego boost type reviews are welcome but not particularly constructive.

Anyway if you any questions about anything feel free to ask and I hope to see you around the site.

Check out our weekly writing and poetry contests at the following links. Your contributions would be more than welcome.

Bienvenue inkblot, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners.

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room on this site, therefore, is a true workshop, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!

Welcome inkblot. There seems to be a long time gap since you joined and your post. Glad to see you finally decided to post (I hope this means you liked what you saw here :))
Hope to see your work soon. Good luck!

Time, time, time... I registered one year ago, and then forgot about it a few weeks later.
I only started reading again a few weeks ago when I received the mail about the writing contest and suddenly remembered the site. And I enjoyed the site... again! So I promised myself to visit and post more frequently. (I know - more frequently than zero doesn't have to be a lot!)
But it seems that I'm always running after time - this is probably why I am currently writing a series of short stories about time, in French though .

    Ah, le temps, le temps...
