    Hey

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by PoorEnglishDonkey, Feb 27, 2023.

    Hi

I’m embarking on a thriller novel with an idea that has floated around in my head for several years and I have finally decided to let it loose and see what happens.

I have decided to join this community in the hopes of getting some help/advice/encouragement in the area of describing locations. I really struggle with providing detailed descriptions of places as it just feels like I’m padding out my writing unnecessarily which leaves me frustrated and unmotivated.

I look forward to exploring what this community has to offer.

    Welcome @PoorEnglishDonkey
As far as describing the scene, you may approach it like telling your story on the radio. I grew up listening to stories on the radio and that's the mode I go into when I'm writing a scene.
