Hi, I am also a new member. I just want to say that even in my very brief time here, I've even exposed to things that doesn't seem relevant to writing, but there is. You will meet incredible people who have a vast amount of knowledge, I think the biggest thing is to be receptive of the ideas they espouse. It's hard because you come with your own knowledge, but to become someone who writes, you have to accept that there are people who read, and they tend to have a lot of information you are lacking. Before inventing the wheel, have an idea of what the wheel is supposed to be. Then throw all your ideas about the wheel and recreate it. That's a writer in a nutshell that I've understood. Anyway, hopefully I can help in your journey and you can in mine.
