Hi Everyone, N331 here. I'm just a university student studying in the area of economics. Not quite the same as creative writing but I do enjoy both my subject and creative writing. I love imagining things, I always used to walk up and down my house, listening to music and thinking of cool stories... and then writing them. Social media has apparently dubbed this 'maldaptive daydreaming'. Anyway, that's why I started writing. I just love writing down cool ideas I have. Like, here's a mini paragraph of my character doing a backflip of a floating island! (it's only 5.5 lines but if you can't be bothered, I get it lol 'In a flash, Tom leapt upwards. Bringing his chin towards his chest, and flinging his legs over his back. Within seconds, piercing air rushed against his face. He continued to fall, spinning around in a tuck while whooping with joy. His screams of excitement being stolen by the shrilling wind as his eyes couldn’t help but fill up with water. He fell, falling faster and faster. Approaching the ground at supersonic speeds, he felt a strong force beginning to push him upwards, the speed decreasing with each passing second. He landed on his feet with a triumphant smile as the others soon followed behind. ' As you can guess, I'm certainly not a pro. Just a guy who likes writing every now and then. I would appreciate advice on future questions I have and potential ways to improve my writing. I'm struggling with certain plot holes with my story, coming up with a better backstory for my MC and creating an actual decent female character, as my attempts when I was 15 year old weren't great. As much as I seek help, I'll also try to engage on different posts and give my input to others. I have a few questions and will post them soon. All help is appreciated. Nice to meet you and thanks for reading!
Welcome! If they can’t answer any questions you have here then…well, you’ll have to ask elsewhere but I’m certain they can! See you around!
Hello and welcome, you've come to the right place to ask writing-related questions. And your paragraph there tells me you love words! Looking forward to seeing you in the forums!
