in 2011, my novella, The Blood Reapers, was published by Damnation Books. As it turned out, sometime before my contract expired, September 1st 2016, Damnation went out of business and the contract was bought by some other 2-but self-publisher, leaching off of others (that's another story). Anyway, I found out AFTER the contract expired that it was still sold on Amazon. I emailed the new publisher who owned my contract and let them know I knew they were selling it illegally and needless to say, they cleared out the Amazon listing (Link below) of the editor, cover artist, tagline and synopsis. You can no longer buy it and all that remains are my name, the cover art and the reviews. So, I rewrote my original story and changed some of it, but it still features the same characters and scenarios, but the point is, I wanted to name it The Blood Reapers, and I wanted to know if there's anything I could do to have that the book removed altogether from Amazon? I want to start over with it since there was a lot of factors that ruined my last TBR draft. Apologies if you've already ran these circles; have you tried Amazon's Author/Publisher corrections guidelines? https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200629100 As far as it seems you should at least be able to contact customer support and ask for guidance from their side.
I don’t think you can do that unless you’d physically published the book through amazon/createspace/kindle yourself. Damnation Publishers could do that for you but you say they are out of business or bought out. If you still maintain contact with someone responsible from the bought-out company then they could perhaps advise you. Following @Lazaares ‘s link I’d try to get into contact with amazon customer support otherwise. GL.
yeah you can't - at the end of the day i wouldn't worry about it, just don't claim it on your author central... and use a different cover . one thing you might encounter is amazon asking you to prove you have the rights to publish it
