    True conflict

Ah crap! Oh well, click on through and watch it on youtube.

Just ran across this video. I had never heard of this channel before, but for some reason I decided to watch the video, and I think it's exactly what I needed.

When she says 'True conflict must be related to your hero's foolish goals," I believe foolish goals means what I've heard called "What the character wants" as opposed to what they need. She's got me thinking about it a little differently than I have before, and I think it's showing me a solution to some problems I've been having.

I like the way she put it—I don't remember the exact wording, but something like "the foolish desire is about what the character thinks he's going to accomplish." I think she just put the problems with my latest story (all my stories) into perfect perspective.
