I'm Dren, and I've been writing since I was basically larval. I vaguely recall excessively dramatic responses to prompts of the Rice Krispies mascots in elementary school, and I've been writing fanfiction since I was in middle school. I stopped writing for a long time because of mental health stuff, but have recently wanted to get back into it. I have an idea for a mystery/crime fiction novel, a genre I'm not used to outside of my personal interest in law and true crime. I'm usually more of a fantasy kind of person, but this idea has it's hooks in me. I'm here looking for help in getting back into the swing of things when it comes to writing consistently, and maybe even finishing the story itself, whether for my own personal enjoyment and pride or for future attempts at publishing. I tend to write piecemeal, putting down scenes or sections I picture strongly and then connecting them together after the fact. My grammar tends to leave much to be desired, and I have a hard time finding the middle ground between too much and too little description. I look forward to making new friends and chatting about stories and ideas!
