I have been frequenting Scibophile, but I find their forums to be rather heavily censored. I write stories about sensitive issues like rape, incest, child abuse, suicide, politics and religion, and when I discuss my stories the moderators inevitably shut me down. Please let me know whether I can discuss sensitive issues on this forum. If not, I'll move on.
Welcome to the forums Thomas Larmore. The forum does have a free speech policy, so there should be no restrictions on religion and politics. I am still fairly new here, but I have seen content on suicide and child abuse. If you want to take a look at the erotica and horror sections, that may be a good guide for content heading in that direction. Here is the link to the forum rules if you want to see them for yourself: https://www.writingforums.org/rules/ I think you will probably be ok.
We do - but we frown on discussions about them in the writing area (we have a debate room but you and the OP won't be able to see that yet as its 90 days and 100 posts) Posting Stories about religion and politics for critique of the writing- not a problem. Discussing such stories as a thinly disguised excuse to start an argument - big problem. (that comes under the exceptions to the free speech policy - situations where content may harm the quality or well-being of the community,), such threads are highly likely to be closed out of hand. Stories about suicide - not a problem (as with other violence) so long as its not exceptionally graphic. however please put a trigger warning in the title Stories about rape, incest and child abuse... fine so long as its not sexually explicit (if it is it would have to go in the erotica forum but rape and anything involving minors is explicitly forbidden by the erotica forum rules )- but again please give a trigger warning Also we welcome people discussing writing even when the writing is about sensitive topics, we don't welcome people using supposed writing discussions to discuss rape , incest, or abuse for reasons that are frankly squicky... that comes under the 'no distasteful content' rule. We have in the past banned people for starting thread after thread about sexual content, when it has become clear that their interest is sexual, not literary. Bottom line use your common sense, and if you're not sure ask a staff member before posting
