Hello, everyone. I'm not particularly good at writing these introduction things, so bear with me if I go off on a bit a waffle. My name is, as you may be able to tell from my username here, Marc. I'm a soon to be twenty three year old from Manchester, England. I've been writing now for many years, though the only thing ever seen by members of the public has been the several fanfiction stories I've written. I've been working on an original novel for the better part of this year, and am greatly looking forward to the day that I can call it complete. I'm a very picky person when it comes to actually sitting down and writing. Noise bugs me and makes me lose track of my thoughts, so I need a place that's pretty much silent in order to gather my muse and make the words start to flow. My reading preferences lean more toward the fantasy genre than any other, something that I've blamed Tolkien for ever since I sat down and read his books during my early teen years. Anyway, I hope I've not bored you too much.
Lol nope you've not bored me at all, I thought that was a very nice introduction - if not a little "normal" for the usual craziness of these forums. Ah, I'd suggest waiting a little while before judging me as normal. I tend to get a little weird at times, and some of the things I write might make me seem like I'm from another planet to an outside observer. ... and my complete lack of comprehension when it comes to grammar makes all of my stories look weird.
Welcome to the forums. : ) I'd be interested in reading your work sometime. And yes, I will admit it, Tolkien is pretty amazing.
I'll put some of my work up someday soon, it's all on a backup disk somewhere since I recently reformatted my hard drive. I really should have labelled the disk, I think, but messing around with partition tables blew my mind into fart mode. Thanks for the welcome, it's much appreciated.
Haha indeed. Reformation is for the weak! (yeah, I made that word up, but it was fun). Anyway, hopefully your mind is no longer in fart mode, and I'll be looking forward to your writing, once you've finally found it. : )
