I'm here because of Query Shark

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Intangible Girl, Dec 30, 2018.

(Seriously, have you read the Query Shark blog? Even if you're not querying, even if you never intend to query, I learned more about writing from that blog than I've learned from whole books on the subject. She is brutal and it is wonderful.)

Anyway, this forum looks like an awesome place, and I'm excited to be here. I'd be more involved in my local face-to-face writing group, but I kind of work at the library it's held at. During meeting hours. Plus the Nanowrimo forums aren't exactly active all year, and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with myself until next November. So glad this place exists.

Welcome! Are you in the querying process, or just reading The Shark for fun?

Thank you! And definitely just for fun. I'm nowhere near the querying phase. My current project is a novel length fanfiction, but after that I'll be working on a middle grade novel. That should be sometime next summer.

Dragon Ball Z. Do you write fan fiction?

I used to. And I still read it, sometimes. There's some good stuff out there!

Welcome and thanks for showing a newbie a new resource. Unfortunately, my web security program seems to think the blog is dangerous. I'll work on that part. You enjoy what I've found to be a decent site here and hope it helps your endeavor.

Try it later. Sometimes that warning is because they haven't updated some security thingy. My son explained it to me but I've forgotten the details.

I'm not getting the warning: https://queryshark.blogspot.com/2018/01/295.html

Once I got the warning on a particular page while if I went to the page through some link it was fine.

Thank you! And GingerCoffee is right about the security thingy. Also, a few of the queries have titles that would trigger a spam filter. The Shark is merciless pointing this out.

I've submitted it to my previous clan to be analysed. It was the old geeky thing to do ... ;)
