yo yo yo, y'all can call me Grease which of course isn't my real name. I enjoy writing, which is why I'm here lmao and just want a peaceful place to share and grow conformable with writing full length novels. I as many young writers do, struggle with getting thought down onto the page, I'll have the best idea I've ever thunk in my entire life and by the time I sit down to write I kinda just blank. Besides my anxieties and all that stuff, I enjoy horror, fantasy (especially dark fantasy) and ofc romance sprinkled into things here and there for flavor. Hi, DyingoftheLight and welcome So have you written any short stories? Are you a plotter or Panster when you write?
Im a 1000% a Panster, sometimes I'll make little notes here and there when I think I have a good idea I want to stick with but besides that it kinda just comes to me over time and I write down whatever I can. I haven't written a short story in awhile because I've been really trying to write something lengthier, but I have in the past.
I used to be a panster, but now I plot the story. I outline each chapter so I get a birdseye view of the overall story, including the crisis points. Then I fill in between the lines. It helped me... haha ... and I leave lots of colour coded notes in each chapter.
Its awesome that you have something that works! I'm still trying new things to figure out what feels the most comfortable and efficient, I'm also still trying to figure out my voice aswell. How I write sometimes feels a little too influenced by what I've read and not how it flows naturally for me, which I'm trying to work on.
Y'know I've always wanted to do horror/high fantasy mixed together, its pretty rare in writing format from what I've seen. Ever since playing the Dark Souls trilogy its got my brain hooked and every so often I'll have the urge to do it but never get anywhere.
