Manga Time Thief Relica plot series

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by MilesTro, Mar 1, 2008.

What do you think of these plots for my three volume manga series?

Volume 1: After stealing Queen Cleopatra’s necklace for a museum manager, Jenny Relica stops by at a dojo to spar against Master Sinro. Sinro is looking for a worthily time thief to complete an offer for him. Jenny defeated Sinro, proving herself to be a good martial art fighter. Sinro decides to give Jenny the task to steal the book of mystic Chinese spells from an evil sorcerer, Lu Fang, in ancient China. The book teaches how to use a magic spell attack, while performing martial art moves against an opponent. Sinro wants to start a new generation of mystic fighters to protect people from corruptness in his home. Jenny accepted the deal for the knowledge of the magic spells and money. She has to get the book before it gets destroy along with Lu Fang by a legendary Chinese hero, Wu Lee.
In ancient China, Jenny disguises herself as one of Lu Fang’s minions and sneaks into Lu Fang’s hide out, which is hidden inside a dragon cave. The moment she got the book, she escapes while being chase by Lu Fang’s two dragons. When she lost them, Jenny hid in a village to wait, until her time suit recharges. She got dress into different clothing so the people wouldn’t think she’s on Lu Fang’s side. Lu Fang and his army of dragons invaded the village. He began his conquest of conquering China. Believing Lu Fang is still hunting her, Jenny escapes the village, but Lu Fang saw her and then sent his dragons to catch her to get his book back.
At a grass field, Jenny got rescue by Wu Lee from the dragons. He took her to his emperor father’s palace in the Forbidden City where he lives. Jenny kept the book a secret so the emperor wouldn’t burn it. The emperor and Wu Lee believe the book is evil, since it belonged to Lu Fang.
In the final showdown, Lu Fang and his dragon army attacks the Forbidden City in attempt to conquer the empire. Using a spell from the book, Jenny summons the Phoenix spirit to destroy Lu Fang along with his dragons. After the empire was saved, Jenny became the hero of China instead of Wu Lee. Wu Lee’s father awarded Jenny with valuable gifts and offered her to stay for a ceremony feast. After the feast, Jenny returned to modern L.A and gave the book to Master Sinro. Not only she got paid with a lot of money, she also got riches from the Chinese emperor. Jenny enjoys being a time thief.

Volume 2: Jenny Relica time warped to 1830 Transylvania to grab a magical red ruby stone to give to a relic shop owner. She found the ruby inside a tomb in a graveyard, which is protected by undead zombies. When Jenny took the ruby from the tomb, she got attacked by a vampire mistress name Count Thena, who is the daughter of a vampire demon, Lord Vunark. Vunark was the one who started the race of vampires, until he was slain by a holy knight. Thena planned to use the ruby stone’s power to resurrect her father so he can continue the vampire plague across the world.
Jenny was saved by the Transylvania Monster Hunter team on a quest to prevent Thena from completing her goal. Their names are Jerkin Hollow, Ellen Crossfield, and Toma. Toma is a Native American Indian shaman, while Jerkin and Ellen are just normal skillful fighters. Ellen scared Thena away with her holy water gun. Even though she had to escape, Thena is not going to give up on the ruby stone. The team escorted Jenny to their home town where she will be safe from lurking monsters. Jerkin took the ruby from Jenny so he can protect it from Thena. To get the ruby back, Jenny followed the team to their headquarters underneath a church. While they went to sleep, Jenny got back the ruby and then left the church.
Outside, Jenny was ambush by Thena’s vampire minions. Thena appeared and finally got hold of the ruby as she took a bite on Jenny’s neck. After Thena got away, Jenny feared she will become a blood thirsty vampire. So she came back to the team and told Jerkin what happen. Jerkin told her in order to prevent the transformation, she must slay Count Thena before it is too late. Jenny joined Jerkin’s team to get the ruby back from Thena.
At Count Thena’s castle, they battle their way through Thena’s bodyguards, until they reach Thena’s underground ritual chamber. But they are too late. Thena has successfully brought her father back from the dead. Jerkin and his companions battle against Vunark, while Jenny battle against Thena in a struggle. After Jenny killed Thena, she helped Jerkin pull out the ruby out of Vunark’s chest after they destroyed Vunark’s armor. When Jerkin crushed the ruby stone, Lord Vunark turned into ash. He will never come back again.
By morning, the team thanked Jenny for helping them out. Even though the ruby is gone, Jenny is glad the world is saved. When Jenny returned to modern day Transylvania, she told the relic shop owner what happen. After Jenny left, the relic shop owner is reveal to be the recarnation of Count Thena as a human being. She wanted to resurrect her father in the modern time so the Transylvania Monster Hunters won’t stop her. Now there’s nothing else to do, but run her shop.

Volume 3: In 1952 Paris, Jenny Relica sneaks into a museum to steal a golden dagger for her client. She took the dagger and escaped from the France police. While waiting for her time suit to recharge, Jenny hid inside a hotel to rest. But from out of nowhere, she got attack by a team of time assassins from the future. They work with a secret organization in the future known as TAD (Time Agency of Defense), which protects the future from changing into disasters. Jenny became their wanted target for some reason, which she doesn’t understand why. All she done was steal mythological relics, which don’t affect the future. Maybe the golden dagger has something to do with the future.
After another escape, Jenny return to modern Paris and gave the dagger to her client, Lucy Annason, who prefers to be called Ms. Annason. Instead of paying her the cash, Ms. Annason ordered her two henchmen to shoot down Jenny into a river. Jenny went down, but she survived because her time suit is bullet proof. Jenny became so furious she plot revenge on Ms. Annason for double crossing her. And she wants to know why her client tried to kill her.
At a gentlemen’s club, Jenny interrogated one of Ms. Annason’s henchmen to get her answers. The henchman doesn’t know what Ms. Annason is up to, but he knows she doesn’t want anyone to discover her secret. That’s why she turned against Jenny. Before the henchman told Jenny more, he got shot by a hitman. Jenny took out the hitman before he shot her next.
Later, Jenny sneaks into Ms. Annason’s hotel room to find some clues. She encounters a time traveler named Jim Buckhill, who said he is a TAD agent from the future. He explained that Ms. Annason had discovered an ancient forgotten Maya temple, which imprisons a powerful deity. Ms. Annason desires the deity’s power to conquer the world. When Ms. Annason entered the temple, the deity took over her body, turning her into a destructive goddess. She traveled across the world, while preying on people. Nobody could stop her, so the TAD sent a team of time assassins to try to prevent Jenny from giving the golden dagger to Ms. Annason, which she uses to open the temple. Since the time assassins failed, the TAD sent Jim to stop Ms. Annason. Jenny now understood why the time assassins went after her. She decided to join Jim so she can have her revenge on Ms. Annason.
At a mountain range forest somewhere in Mexico, Jenny and Jim reached the Maya temple guarded by zombies of ancient sacrificed Maya victims. When they enter the temple, Ms. Annason already transformed into a demon goddess. She hungers for blood from humanity now. Jenny found a stone tablet, which tells how to defeat the evil deity. She must kill Ms. Annason by stabbing Ms. Annason’s heart with the golden dagger. After a struggle, Jenny successfully stabs the dagger into Ms. Annason’s chest. The demon goddess vaporized into nothing along with her power.
Now that the future is saved and changed, Jim disappeared because his mission to stop Ms. Annason no longer exists. Jenny learned to be careful of what client offers her to steal. She also believes the deity in the past forced the Aztecs and Maya tribes to perform sacrifices for it so it would gain power. What will Jenny Relica discover next?

Mexico, you got a problem with that?
Why are you calling it manga? Are you japanese? Is the person drawing it japanese? Otherwise is just as manga as 'Megatokyo'.

Why are you thinking about three volumes already? Are you really so sure you're gonna be that successful?

Time Thief Relica? I wouldn't pick it out the shelf even by accident. The plot you write here is weak, like you just watched and read a bunch and manga and anime and wrote down the first thing you thought of, and I know because my first stories turned out just like this right here. Try writing a real story for a start.

Sorry if I came across as rude but that's just what I think.

Well it is for Tokyopop and they want a three volume series, unless readers like it and then they might let me continue the series. So who cares if you don't like it. I bet other readers will. This is as good as I can write a story.

If it's for that contest try reading the rules closer. Only if you win they'll offer you a three volume contract, otherwise you should only send a one-shot story. And I still think your story needs work.

Wouldn't that mean that the course of history was changed? Could that possibly serve to change the course of Chinese history?

If this Thena chick is so eager to kill Jenny in the past, why doesn't she shoot her or something right here? Why does Jenny up and leave, with Thena running her store?

Everything has some sort of effect, wouldn't you think?

You don't have to be Japanese to write "Manga." It's a style of writing.. That's it.

I don't have much of an interest in Manga, but this sounds action-packed enough to hold the interest of people who read that sort of stuff. I say go for it. You might want to give your character a love interest though.
