    Hypothetical question....

Discussion in 'Traditional Publishing' started by J.T. Woody, Feb 1, 2020.

Say you submit to a literary journal through a legit service (duotrope/submittable, for example) and get accepted.
Let's say the journal was set to be release Winter 2019.
You hear nothing about it's release.
You go on their webpage and it has 0 publications to show.
You go on their Facebook, and the last post was from October 2019.
You email them and no response.....

    ....were you "robbed"?
What does one do in this situation?

Would I be in some violation of something if I were to submit this same story elsewhere since I have not heard from this journal since it was "accepted" for publication??

I think I would try to investigate, search for any info on the company. Most likely other people have been asking the same questions, you might find some discussion on a message board about it if you come up with the right search terms. That's usually the key to learning whatever you need to learn.

    Hypothetically of course.
