    "Arguably"

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by RockinOle, Mar 18, 2011.

I am in the process of writing a midterm essay that is due tomorrow... I am finding myself using the word "arguably" when I really want to say "One could argue," or in other words, "it would be feasible to posit." Is there a better way to say this? My brain is becoming rather foggy. Thanks!

    "it can be asserted..."
    "proponents of the notion of....demonstrate..."

    "It could be said that..."
"It is reasonable to see/say that..."

Probably a bit too late for you, though.
