Publishing Short Storys in the UK?

Discussion in 'Traditional Publishing' started by Lemex, Jun 18, 2008.

How many of us has had a Short Story published here in the UK in a newspaper or Magazines? I'm looking to get something published and am not familiar with the types of media that accept Short Stories from aspiring writers like myself and everyone here on these wonderful forums.
Anyone had any experience trying to get this done? Or has been published in one of these thing?
    Can you suggest anything?

Have you got a Writers & Artists Yearbook? If you get one of those (about £16) it contains a list of every UK magazine and Publisher, including how long they;ve been going, what they accept, how to submit, their addresses, editors and how much and when they pay. It's really useful. But make sure you get the 2008 one!

I have to agree with Scribe Rewan on everything.

Writers and Artists yearbook is excellant (although mines out of date :S)

And the quote (from Serenity) is my favourite moment from that film haha.
