    Problem posting a swear word

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by RobT, Oct 29, 2009.

    Hi,

I checked the forum rules out and they say that swearing is allowed. I'm trying to use the word "sh1t" in an entry for the short story competition (only spelt correctly), however I only seem to get ****. Can anyone advise what I need to do to get the word visible or is it a case that I can't?

    Thanks in advance,
    Rob.

Just put sh** so people know what word you're talking about, but be sure to give an "explicit language" warning.

I'm not familiar with the short story contest rules so I don't know if explicit language is allowed.

The inverted exclamation point character wakes a workable i substitute. No one will be upset if you use tat, as long as you aren't using it for excessive swearing.

However, gratuitous swearing is strongly discouraged.

In a group for writers, you can't be afraid of any word, but you have to learn to use it properly, especially when it comes to language that has a very high chance of offending others.
