    Medal Backlog

    Discussion in 'Writing Contests' started by theoriginalmonsterman, Jul 25, 2019.

    This is just a thread to keep track of medals that have been yet to be awarded. If you are waiting on a medal please let me know.

    I believe that the last medal awarded was for Poetry Contest #318, so it definitely has been awhile. I can probably go through myself and double check as well. For now just post below the number for the poetry contest you're waiting on a medal for. Thanks!

    @Night Herald for Poetry Contest #320

    @davidm for Poetry Contest #321

    @Mark Burton for the June Short Story contest

    @Mark Burton for poetry contest #319

    @Seven Crowns needs a medal for Flash Fiction Contest #68

    @SethLoki for poetry contest #322

    @Rae_3 for Poetry #323

    @Stephen Barnard for poetry #324

    @exweedfarmer for the July Short Story contest

    @Volcanic Duck for Flash Fiction Contest #69

    We are trying to get hold of @Wreybies or @Daniel to sort this out - it's somewhat embarrassing but only Admin have the power to create and award medals - please bear with us.

    Also I've moved this thread to the top of the main competitions section so we can list all the outstanding medals for flash, short, and poetry in the same place which will make it easier for whoever eventually actions it.

    The amount of work that people put into their short stories means that this is becoming a little insulting. This show needs to be run properly.

    I'm pretty sure I have all my short story medals. I didn't win the June contest, Mark Burton did. I won the May contest and received my medal for that.

    @Seven Crowns needs a medal for Flash Fiction Contest #68. Other than that, we're good.

    I'm suffering poetic injustice. Sans quill and ink for a recent win. :meh:

    Never received my short bronze at Xmas, and really, really, really depressed about that. @Exdrugdealer came second, @EstherMayRose won gold.

    There are silver and bronze medals for second and third? I just noticed that I do have a silver among my collection ... in this case, I am also owed at least one silver, for a recent short story that came in second. :(

    I've never had any bronze or silver medals, and I've come second or third a few times. I didn't think they were still a thing. I've got my gold for the Christmas competition, thanks.

    There have never been silver or bronze for the standard contests (some first place medals are silver some are gold, there no real logic)- matt is just being matt - There were second and third places awarded in the Hall of fame and the big competitions.
    this links gives a full list of what was awarded and when https://www.writingforums.org/help/medals#medal-364

    As Iain mentioned further up could we please keep this thread uncluttered, so it functions as intended as a list of those requiring awards when we manage to capture an admin

    As I understand it you get a bronze for your first win in a category, a silver for a second win, and a gold for your third win and any others after that.
    @SethLoki's flash fiction wins above demonstrate it perfectly.

    Doesn't seem to work that way either, @Stephen Barnard, as I've got two bronze flash fiction thunderbolts.

    I share the confusion, but we really need to keep this thread totally business and uncluttered. You're welcome to start another thread in the lounge to try and figure out the mystery, but the Team will henceforth be deleting any posts that don't specifically pertain to medals not awarded yet. Sorry about that, but we need this thread to be a bold point for those who can help us out.

    ETA: The only two people who can definitively answer the question of why some medals are different colors than others are the two whom we are trying to contact to get them awarded.

    Oh good. I'm trying to collect a Qaddafi uniform worth of medals.
    I'm missing poetry #295 (there was a hurricane going on, and it was understandably skipped) and flash #68.

    I should donate money again and that will give me a green sash. Hmm . . .

    Might as well get this in early. Poetry #324. Which means @Rae_3 will also be missing Poetry #323.
