    Describe the fictional world!

Discussion in 'Word games' started by Drusilla, Jul 19, 2011.

In this game you have to describe the fictional world/planet/universe/city/province (you decide!). The poster above you will give you a name of the world you have to describe, and you can use your imagination just as you want to!

There is no limit to how many words you can use, but please try to use at least five sentences! The description of the world may contain terrain, nature, culture, political situation, history, people(s) etc. Whatever you would like to add!

A large forest filled world. No desert, antarctic, or any other type of areas. Just tropical rain forests everywhere. There are two civilizations. The first would be humans trying to survive with scifi machinery, such as lazer guns, or hover vehicles. The second would be the Skaar. An alien race in which Terranova is their home planet. They don't like the humans very much and are trying to kill them off. (The humans crash landed on terranova and can't escape so they must survive)

Aether is an extremely small planet. The planet's whole land area is around as big as North America (USA and Canada). The planet is extremely dry, filled with red deserts, volcanoes and canyons. There is a small ocean called the "Death Sea" on the south of the planet, and there are only two lakes, Matikixia and Galmaya. 98% of the population live near the two lakes, who are serving as water sources.
The people of Aether have a really harsh life, with water shortage, desert storms and depression as an everyday plague.
Aether's population consists of humans (40%) and Athrix (60%). The Athrix are the native inhabitants of Aether and they are a red-skinned, humanoid species who look just like humans, except for the fact that they have two curly horns on their heads instead of hair.
The ruling elite (2% of the population) are mostly humans. They don't really care about their planet. Everything they do is smooching with the leaders on other planets, importing water from other, more wet planets and playing gods.

Gilvash is a dark mining planet with thousands of different minerals each one more valuable than the last. "Galaxy mining Co" used to mine there for fuel since they're the largest mining company in that sector, but they soon fled from the planet after having countless vehicles destroyed by commander Tremor and his misfit gang of Subterranean-pirates and their destructive vehicles and scouts spread throughout the entire planet. The mining company finally fled after two events. They discovered the pirate's massive underground lighthouse/drilling base, and the miners had their own base destroyed by the pirates largest vehicle, the behemoth eviscerating drill. The drill is roughly 30 feet tall and 60 feet long and leaves an acidic trail wherever it goes and is fueled by an extremely rare mineral that can fuel it for 50 years before running out, it also has extremely thick armor and countless turrets and moving blades patched on to the sides of it making it nearly invincible. It managed to kill most of the miners and they were soon eaten by some of the crews mutants such as First mate sludge and all of the troops in the gazer division. So now the planet is practically empty and lifeless until you reach a couple stories underground, but by then you're doomed.

Granulatove was originally believed to be just another lifeless rock when it was discovered in 2131. There were no fauna or flora to speak of, just a whole lot of barren desert. Dispite that it did garner some attension due to the coloring of it's rocky terrain, which displayed quite a bit of variety from region to region, from the light greens and yellows around the equator, to the dark reds and purples of the poles, all of which glistened in the light of its near by star. As soon its beautiful colors caught the eye of the public, savy businessmen were down on the ground, planning profits for the the gorgeous rock, and mining of the planet began, but something parculiar started to be noticed a few individuls soon after. Most just thought it was all in their heads at first, the solid stone of the planet seemed to be moving. It was slow, but definitly happening. Some pits that were dug seemed to fill back up on their own, and though it was originally ignored, as the pits refilled, they began engulfing the minning equipment and buildings. The equipment wasn't just being covered in rock and dust, it was becoming part of it. When a poor ended up dead while sleeping in an excavation site over night, the suit that allowed his to breath on the oxygenless planet had been turned to stone, in addition to the man's back, the scientists were called in. The smooth surface they thought was rock was not inanimate. A check under the microscope confirmed it was in fact alive, all those slabs of rock taken from the planet made of microscopic organisms forming gigantic super organisms. Mining on the planet was soon banned, and filled with scientists flocking to study the new form of life.

Fred is a silly place where gravity only works some of the time. The Torpilgids or 'Torps' are the only civilized and stable species on Fred. (imagine a mix of a stork, a squid and a monkey.) Other species come and go, but one minute you'll see frog-like critters with batwings, and in a single generation you'll see bat-like critters with frog legs. The Torps stopped giving names to these animals ages ago, as it was too confusing to keep track of who was what and when.

Not many people like to visit Fred. Mainly because of the unusual gravity. Imagine trying to land a ship when you don't know what the gravitational force will be one minute to the next. Though lots of adrenaline junkies do like to go to there. All sorts of games of chance get invented. One of the old favorites is simply leaping off a cliff, hopeing that gravity will work in your favor before you plumet to your death. In some unusual cases, this will lead to them hurling upwards into outer space. Which always gets a good laugh from friends.

Glogkt is a land of talking zebras who eat dandelions. However the socio-econ mic situation is a mirror of the world and China as they owe so much money to the hippos. It is ruled by an acting evil ruler, who is really just misunderstood. Also they are all allergic to butter, and thus they have a failing movie industry. They are at war with unicorns.

    TheLandWherePeopleAreAfraidOfThemselves,
formerly and notoriously known as planet Psycho, is a land where everyone lives in total isolation from themselves. This situation came about when the Psychos, as they were formerly known, began to realize that they had an inherent propensity to cut their own throats at every available opportunity. If they were winning a war they would make sure to blunder. If their crops were about to flourish they would somehow ruin the soil. I they were about to invent a useful machine they would somehow make sure it self-destruct ed in one way or another. At first they were unaware of this phenomenon and ascribed it to bad luck. But then, as they gradually realized it was an uncontrollable part of their nature, they began fearing themselves.

Since they couldn't trust themselves they decided to try to fix their genetic makeup via gene splicing. That only resulted in an intensification of their self-fear since they sabotaged their own efforts to assure that they would fail. Realizing that resistance to themselves is futile, they now spend most of their free time cringing at their own polka-dotted, bell-shaped, pot-bellied images in the mirror or at their own shadows and worrying about what foul deed they will cling-clang on themselves next.

As to the planet itself? It is overgrown with ravenously carnivorous jungle and marshes. Inclined to unpredictable orbital shifts and axial irregularities. Earthquake and volcanically prone. Has and insalubriouas tendency toward excessive noxious fume out-gassing. Suffers synchronically from erratic magnetic-field syndrome. And its sallow damp surface is prone to sudden appearances of malevolently-inclined, foul-smelling, twenty-tentacled sinkholes.

Planet Balooba, or "The 'Loob" as its inhabitants refer to it, is a place where the color spectrum (as we know it to be on Earth) is backwards. What would be white on Earth, is black, what would be red, is seen as blue, and so on.

The 'Loob has three moons and two suns that are constantly fighting for sky space, so no one really knows when it will daylight, nighttime, or an eclipse of sorts. It is a mostly water planet, with only a small 20% of it being covered with a form of land mass.
The land mass happens to be the backsides of very large leviathan-sized creatures much like Earth's whales, except much much larger, and lots less active. So inactive they've managed to grow life-sustaining vegatation on their exposed backs, that have in turn created sunbathing spots for the wicked Balloosene. Wicked because they eat every living thing in sight, even when they aren't hungry.

The Ballosene are humanoid creatures, with excessively long limbs and fingers. They are native to the leviathan lands, and live mostly in the trees that grow there, but can swim and stay underwater as long as they want. Having the nose and lungs of an Earth's seal and the finned feet of a platypus helps them stay underwater and out-swim the predators.

The rest of the 'Loob's creature population lives underwater, ruled by the Trinker Spink, or 'beach king', who looks the be half octopus and half polar bear. In his underwater domain, it is his way, or the suns way (meaning you get 'beached' and left to fend off the Ballosene). His daughters, the Ginker Links ("Three princesses") are ugly, short, and fat. Respectively. And much resemble the mud skippers of Earth, with extremely long fins and attractive plumes sprouting from their foreheads. You do not want to anger the Ginker Links, or they will eat you themselves. No mercy.

Lightsone Waddolwill is a strange planet. It is formed of giant mountains with cities and villages ontop, this is the Lightsone. Below is murky swamp, this is known as the Waddolwill. Winged humanoid beings inhabit the Lightsone, they rarely come down from the mountain or enter the Waddolwill for fear of the beasts that lurk there.

In the depths of the Waddolwill beasts of different shapes and sizes roam. Giant shark like creatures with three eyes hunt the more peaceful creatures that inhabit the swamp. On the dryer areas of the Waddolwill tree ents roam cultivating plants and trees.

the gloom is a village baricated by a cubed brick right the way round. They are in complete darkness, the only light is a lamp on everyone's stomach. They breath via an underground pump which pumps large amounts of air up.

I use to live in a Igloo, but it melted :)
Sarah looked out her dirty widow out into the even dirtier town of Terraville. Very few houses weren't old rusted trailers. The school was nothing more then a shed on the north side. Not that many kids went to school anyways.
Slowly Sarah gathered her books and walked out the creaky screen door, ignoring her parents redundant argument. An old truck full of teenagers raced past her trailer, creating a cloud of dust that left Sarah coughing. There was not one paved road in all of Terraville, unless you included the freeway that cut though the fields near by.
As soon as little Sarah could breathe she yelled out on the top of her lungs, "I hate this damn town! Everyone is a retard! No one knows how to drive! I can't wait to friggen leave this place!"
No one near by even flinched at her screams, even though she was only 8 years old. But these days it was a common event, everyday poor little Sarah would add to the yelling of her parents (and to the over all noise of town). And like always no one would care.
Sarah always said she was going to leave this dirt ball. She always reminded her small group of friends that no one here was going to amount to anything.
But that's before she met me.

Lightsone Waddolwill is a forest that no one can ever really find or get to. It's where little creatures named the Waddols live. They are light as a feather and roundish, but also glow. They live in the forest eating nothing but aphids and sucking dew from leaves in the morning. Most are territorial about their homes in hollows of trees, but all together, the Waddols are very peaceful creatures.

A small island of 500km2 is nothing but forest and sand with the odd house scattered around the forest. The food supply is a good bunch of berries and coconuts high up on coastline trees, which fed the population of 310. The people were exactly the same, two prototypes, male and female. Males were nine foot, short black hair, and good bodies.
The females had long, blonde hair and were seven and a half foot tall.
This allowed them to extract food high in trees.

Nullaville is perhaps the most quaint and boring village in the eastern province of West Hampshire. Aftering being conquered by the Luscans in the late 18th century the village has remained stuck in the dark ages while the world around it has become modernized. Zeca Deleminco, the closest large city to Nullaville, has a population of nearly 20,000 and is Nullaville's only link to the outside world. Nullaville sucks because they have no internet. They do have nice rice patty fields though. Much of Nullville's architecture is akin to some of the farm houses that can be found here in rural Japan, Earth during the 1980's.

Tuniva is a small cold planet on the edge of the Goldilocks of a small blue star. The planet is practically a penal colony with its harsh conditions and draconian management government. It was settled because it is close to an asteroid belt that is mined. On the surface most of the people work in factories processing the ore for shipment. The Governor lives in a large walled mansion with an army of guards. Both him and his wife miss their daughter who went to a less harsh planet for university.
