Hi all, my name is Sadie and I'm attempting to write my first novel. I'm in my thirties, living in the UK and I've been writing since I was young. I did my degree in English Literature, but then moved into public relations and just kept my creative writing to jotting down ideas on post-it notes. But last year, I finally decided to turn one of those post-its into a real story. I'm now 70k through my initial draft, and so I've joined this forum to learn from others, share critiques to those who need it (and build up my own editing experience in the process!) and to wallow with friends when it gets tough. My first novel is contemporary romance which focuses on two people, who each have their own issues, and how their lives intertwine. After reading a lot of romance, I wanted to create a story that was realistic, and characters that people can see themselves in. I love reading and will consume contemporary fiction, romance, horror, thrillers and some literary fiction. Anyway, that's me in a medium-sized nutshell.
