Hello. Since I was 12, I've had this world in my head. When I was 12, I was drawing a corny "manga" happening in this world, and I had ambitions for publishing some kind of light novel or book in the future. (And being really naive back then, I thought I could even get to make this into an anime.) I even started writing one page back then. But then I kind of thought, Well, there is already a better story, and I don't know how I would explain the mechanics, and I don't even know where I should begin. But recently, I started thinking about this world again. And I thought to myself that I shouldn't change the basic story or characters, because this is what makes the story original. (And different from my favorite anime.) I feel very connected to that world, and I want to start to develop this world and its mechanics (before I'll start to write it—not even the full story but just something). But I'm no scientist, and I want to make a plausible and' scientific sounding' enough explanation for the world, and I thought maybe somebody will help me a little. So the story would take place in a parallel realm, which I now call "The Overworld". (Since the "main land" would be called the Overworld as compared to other 'dimensions' that would still be inside that realm.) The realm, the world, or the universe would be controlled by a computer. I don't know yet where the realm would be, but it would be accessed through a secret portal in a base on Earth. It'd be developed by some kind of secret organization. It'd be in a place (?) in which it could be controlled by the computer, but that kind of technology wouldn't work anywhere on Earth or in the solar system, only in that specific location. The "computer" or the system would have every atom in that realm under its control. Everything would be connected by the system. The system or whatever could manipulate atoms, energy, etc. And for that reason, in that world, things such as "violating" the laws of physics like flying, magic, dragons, etc. would work because of that technology. The world itself, or the mainland (also called the Overworld), would be full of nature, mountains, caves, rivers, etc. The world would have its own inhabitants. Now, the realm and the world would be inspired by a game, and in many ways, it would resemble a game. I was inspired by a real game called Minecraft (but only vaguely; when I was 12, the world would even more resemble or be a game, but now I want to make this world more of a real world), particularly by its lore. I once thought to myself, "What if game became reality?" and that's where it all began. The world would have two other 'dimensions', but they would still be a part of this realm; they would just be different-looking places. The other dimension would be called Nether. It would be a world made mainly out of a red, bloody-looking stone. It'd be full of lava lakes and dangerous monsters such as Ghasts and dark skeletons. The other one would be called "The End," and it'd be made of floating islands made out of moon-looking stone in the dark void. The place would be guarded by a huge, black dragon called the Ender Dragon. And possibly it'd really be the end, or it would be a breaking point in the story. Recently, I also imagined a scene in my mind and had a new idea. There would be another part of the realm, which would still be controlled by the computer or connected to the whole realm, but it'd be a bridge between Earth and the realm I collectively call the Overworld for now. It'd be introduced somewhere at the end of the story, I think. It'd be made of corridors and rooms, and it'd be the base of the secret organization of scientists. I imagine it as a quiet place where you could only hear the buzzing of electronic devices. It would have either a carpet or a shiny, metallic floor, and it'd look kind of futuristic. There would be beds, something to drink, and some machines. I imagine a wise Japanese woman in her 30s or older with light, rather short, straight hair and wearing a silver uniform or suit with blue lines. Not sure of her name yet. And the story would follow three, or maybe four, Administrators. They'd be in their teens, and they'd been given the task of watching over the world and special privileges. They'd be extremely close friends. The "head" Administrator would have the appearance of my ING avatar, and in my original story, he was twelve years old since I was 12 when I was developing everything. He would also have the nickname of my IGN. He would wield a shiny, golden sword, which would resemble a pirate sword. It was taken directly from a dream I had when I was 12, in which I was flying, fighting, and saying system commands. Another Overworld Administrator would be Admin. An Admin. In my original story, he was 16, but I changed his age to 19, and as the story progressed, he could even get a little older. As I said, he'd have the "rank" "Admin". He'd have brown hair, and he'd wear a red suit (and a white shirt underneath), gray pants, and black, formal shoes. On his red suit (on his heart), he'd have a badge that would say "ADMIN." His real name would be Takashi; I am not sure of his last name yet or how it would be spelled. As for his personality, I've always imagined him as a calm, collected, quiet, confident, sometimes even appearing reserved, but very helpful guy who would do everything for his friends. He'd doubt himself, but he'd have a tendency to hide his emotions and thoughts to not make his friends worried. Next, we have the Overworld Moderator. He'd have the rank "Moderator", which is lower in the hierarchy than "Admin". In my original story, he was 14, but now he could be 15 or more. He'd have dark blonde (wavy?) hair and would wear a uniform too, which would consist of a green suit (with a badge that would spell "MOD"), gray pants, and shiny shoes. As for his personality, he'd be more emotional and reckless than his older friend (which he would admire), but extremely determined to do his job well. And in my original story, there was even somebody with the rank "Helper" (and a blue uniform), but for now, I thought it kind of wouldn't make sense, so I'll just leave them out or add them later in the story. In my original story, I also had villains (which I've decided to completely delete and remake); they were "hackers," and their names were Daniel and Liam, if anybody was curious. And the Administrators would communicate with the system using system commands. They'd need to say the commands out loud. They would also have the ability to fly, and in my original story, they could turn the flying on using the command "Fly on!". An example of an Administrator command would be something like "System command: Locate near unit!" or "Speed (1-10)" to increase the speed of flying. The Administrators would be chosen by the creators and trained. I think it'd take a few years of training. Now, many questions arise. I already have a basic idea of the world. In my head, I imagine it as a rich, emotional story (if it were a finished product), but I don't actually have any writing abilities, and I don't even know where to start. So I wanted you to help me with the basic concepts. Maybe give me some ideas. First, where exactly would the realm be located? Would it be somewhere in space, or in a wormhole? Would it be essentially another universe? Dimension? I know that it would be physical, that they could get there with their physical bodies and quit. The world would be created or summoned by these creators (not the admins), but how much of it would be created, like a game, and how much of it would be a product of evolution? And to make gravity, the world would need to be a planet, but it'd be in the same universe, right? And how could I make the story decent or make powerful villains if the story would follow literal administrators? And exactly what role would the Administrators fulfill? Would the Moderator have fewer privileges or powers, or would it just be more of a symbolic feature? Also important: how would the world work? What does it mean that it'd be 'controlled' by a computer? Would it be a quantum computer or a multiple of them? Would it be a physical computer? What would the system be? How could you explain that they could fly (the system would direct energy and make them fly), and how could you explain the Ender Dragon? Why would the world be created? What would be the purpose of it? I know that it'd be some kind of experiment. But why? And why would these Administrators be chosen to be Administrators, why THEM? And I don't even know what the main story would be about. Originally, it was more of an episodic adventure. But to keep people entertained, there would need to be a main story or at least a main problem they would face. And how could I develop these characters? Why would one of the Administrators fight with a golden sword if, as an Administrator, he could just use system commands? And what role would system commands play in the story? How many of them would be there? And would the residents of the world use system commands, too? And why would there be residents? And would spells and system commands be the same thing or a separate thing (in the end, technically speaking, it'd be the same thing)? Wouldn't they be overpowered if they could fly? And why would there be residents? How could they get into the Overworld? I know that half of them would even be born inside the Overworld, while the other half would be summoned by the Creators. And would they have real memories or what? Could they go back to Earth? And if they had that kind of tech, why would the world kind of resemble a game or the Middle Ages? Why would they fight with swords if they could just use laser guns or something? (Or could they?) And why exactly on Earth or in this universe would the tech and magic be impossible, but in the Overworld it'd work? Also, I've never been to Japan. How could I make a realistic story if I've never been to Japan nor do I have Japanese friends? There are some of the main questions that have arisen. Honestly, I'm really intrigued by the story and my own imagination. I've always imagined the final product as a cinematic masterpiece, but of course my "excellent" writing abilities don't allow that, or at least I could improve a little. And that's why I'm writing this post; I want to get some ideas and some explanations. I think that the story has a lot of potential. And I think that the characters would be easily recognizable by their uniforms. And I don't think somebody's done a story like that about a group of Administrators and directly inspired by that particular game. But even if it wouldn't work out, it'd be just for me. I'd really appreciate any suggestions.
If you decided you wanted to create an epic ballad that you would play on the piano, but have never played an instrument or written a song before, what would your first step be?
It’s massively over thought without having any connection to an actual story as was true with your Germans vs Romans world and your character with 30 virgin wives the time before that on a more sailent to point Admin in this mortal realm fights with a large shiny ban hammer and manifests as a moose with huge fiery antlers when angered like for instance by a banned time waster coming back yet again to amuse himself at the forum community’s expense frankly I suggest you get a life.
