Can anyone here memorise a shuffled deck of cards? This is vaguely to do with writing. If the answer is no then you probably won’t understand why it is ... or will you?
I knew somebody with an eidetic memory who could probably do it. And I think I see the relationship to writing. You are confronted with a random assemblage of words/events/facts/circumstances, and perceive an underlying order?
I wasn't kidding when I said I used to know how to do it - you can train yourself with certain tricks to do it. I can still reliably memorise an assortment of twenty or more unrelated objects in order. My question is though - is the ability to do it important to writing or is it the method of doing it?
