With all you beautifully minded people. Im 32 and have officially decided to take writing and posting (creative writing) content seriously. Im a little rough around the edges so critiques are pleasantly welcomed.. but not always acted upon. my goal is to figure out my writing style and develop it. Poetry , speculative , a form of memoir? I don’t know.
Hello! Welcome to WF.org. You can improve your writing in all kinds of ways here. There are many places here, including forums on various topics and a workshop you can participate in. If you aren't sure about what you want to write, go to the forums. If you've written something and want it critiqued, go to the workshop. People are very nice here so they'll offer their opinion Bare in mind that the workshop has a 2-1 rule, meaning that you are meant to write two critiques for other people before you post your own work. Hopefully I'll see you around!
What do you read the most as far as genre goes? Each genre has reader expectations that come with it. What would a Bond film be like if there wasn't a scene with him at the mercy of the villain? Readers expect that in an action genre.
so I know how bad this sounds but.. I don’t read very often. I usually am struck by lyrics, speeches, another points of view. I get enthralled with the way a well worded sentence flows.

What he said - ive deleted the work for critique from your intro post. per the Forum Rules if you want critique you need to post it in the workshop, and if you want to post it in the workshop you first have to give two critiques on other peoples work. Since you say you want to take your writing seriously, critiquing others is one of the best ways to improve.
