Dear Colleagues, I'm new to the forum, and my name is Carlos Mena. Let's trade stories! I seek constructive, honest criticism, as I am new to long-form. It would be a pleasure to offer the same to you. So far, I've written non-fiction: articles, speeches, one-person shows, long monologues. I've co-written a few screenplays that were produced, as well as having had a few poems and stories published. I don't presume to call myself a professional writer, but I need to write every day. By now, I have drafted scores of short stories. Would trade feedback and helpful critiques.
Hello and welcome, Carlos. We do have a Workshop here where you can get feedback on your writing. You first post is free, and after that it is 1 for 1 (do a critique, post a piece) Here are the Workshop rules: https://www.writingforums.org/threads/workshop-rules.176254/ Hope to also see you in the forums, there's a lot of good discussions to read and participate in.
Welcome to the forum, Carlos. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for here. I urge you though - don't critique people's stories because you have to, do it because you want to. It helps them and it helps you develop your writing.
Welcome Carlos, since you like poetry, you might like to know we hold regular poetry contests. You can place a vote for your favourite poem or submit something of your own.
This is terrific, thank you. I'm under the gun for the rest of the month, but will engage as soon as I hand in my draft.
