Hi! I remember as I kid, I would write short stories about Crash Bandicoot and my other favorite video games. This evolved into writing (bad) poetry as a teenager. Changing from writing in Dutch to writing in English. As I got older, I found out about drabbles. I loved the challenge of creating a story in exactly 100 words, describing the setting and what was happening in such limited space. My attention span is also nearly non-existent, so drabbles were perfect as I could start and immediately finish them in one sitting. I’m 29 now and found my love for writing again after reading a story on Wattpad. There was a certain sentence in there that inspired me to write a drabble, but I had more to tell than I could in 100 words. So I wrote another one, and still wasn’t satisfied. Long story short, I am now nearly 15000 words deep in my first long romance/drama story (still a bit hesitant to actually call it a book or a novel). I struggle with finishing projects so I hope to find the motivation and encouragement here to keep going. It would be great to get feedback on my writing and tips on how to improve, especially since my first language isn’t English. This seems like a great community so I’m looking forward to browsing the different threads but also to read other peoples work.
