I apparently created an account here like three years ago and forgot about it, so for all intents and purposes I am new here! Hi, hello! Nimbus is my name. Writing is my hobby (unrealized calling? jury's still out) that I work on occasionally. Hoping to make that a more regular thing. Fingers crossed this community can help me with that. Edit: Realized I skipped important information, specifically what exactly I write. My passion is horror, mainly short stories, but I've dipped my toe into the novel writing process as well. I have some nonfiction projects as well, though I don't know if they'll go anywhere. Still finding my voice/niche. I'm excited to meet y'all. Can't wait to get into that workshop section and start reading people's stuff! Maybe I'll work up the courage to post my own work eventually. What sections of the forum are your favorite(s) to spend time in?
Welcome Nimbus! That's a very useful thing to do! You practice writing critique, which means practicing your analytical skill. Analytical skill is important when you're writing. It's actually quite important. The contests! Great way to practice creativity, since you have to follow a prompt. But the workshop is also a super nice place, and the various discussion forums are also interesting places full of discussion. You'll get to meet lots of interesting people here if you stay.
A good intro! Your edit saved you. I am always amazed that those who join a writing site, have so little to say when they have an opportunity to really write something and share. I am looking forward to your work, being both a fan of short stories and well written horror. Welcome to the forum, it is not often someone claims to be excited to meet me. Bob
Welcome Nimbus, looking forward to reading your writing, both in the workshop and the I hope in the contests.
