I recently came across the works of the Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa and was it was a case of love at first read. The "Book of Disquiet" is recollection of thoughts, feelings, digressions that are fascinating beyond what you can imagine. I am really surprise how come such a genius isn't more universally known.
Just took a look based on your suggestion, sounds interesting. Can you tell me (assuming you read it in English) which translation you read? Wikipedia lists four different versions, by Richard Zenith, Iain Watson, Alfred Mac Adam or Margaret Jull Costa, but Amazon US lists only the Zenith and Costa translations.
I personally read the translation by Zenith. As far as I know he authored the translation of the Penguin edition, which is in British English. I believe Margaret Jull Costa took care of the translation to American English. I do not know about the 2 other translators.
