Hi, I am looking for suggestions for free photo-editing programs, please. I have just tried to download Picasa 3, the software I usually use, to my new laptop and Google have decided. "Moving on from Picasa We’ve decided to retire Picasa in order to focus on a single photo service in Google Photos – a new, smarter photo app that works seamlessly across mobile and the web." I don´t trust Google and AI, so I don´t want my photos uploaded to a cloud... Okay, so I´m a dinosaur.
I've used Pixlr Express. Not an app on your computer, it's online, so you might not want to use it. But it's free and really good. The app I use is On1 Photo Raw. It costs a hundred bucks for a lifetime license. Oh, they actually have it on sale right now for $49.99—pretty sweet deal.
GIMP is a free program that offers a lot of similar things that Photoshop does. And its user only, no AI or anything. Just download and use.
I was about to say I use GIMP, but Cave Troll got there first. There are several incredibly helpful videos on YouTube on how to use it if you need a specific skill.
