I'm going to die tomorrow... not really!

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by SeaBreeze, May 10, 2007.

I'm so tired I need to go to bed. which means that I'm probably going to be late.

So apart from giving the "I slept in" Line, what can I tell my boss?

Tell him that you have the bubonic (unsure of correct spelling there) plague and can't come to work. hahahahahahahahaha I have used that line once and boy did it get some laughs lol
Just fake being sick and have done with it, just don't go up town or you'll get caught out. Or you can tell him that you were up all night as a friend came over that was very distraught and her and her kids kept you awake all night....hehehe I love kids, they always give you the best excuse to get out of everything.

For homework I think this is the best:

"Well, you know how aliens always abduct the worst thing they come across? They abducted my homework."

My Mom told me to give you this excuse:

My boyfriend and I really want to have a child. We tried really hard last night, and I just couldn't wake up on time. I'm really sorry, but since we want a baby so badly we're planning to try again frequently.

Whenever lying to someone or just making excuses, be extremely vague. I have found this always helps. So, step 1: Make a very vague statement that has to do very loosely with what you are currently doing that you technically shouldn't be doing.
Step 2: Put in lots of "ums" and "errs" and "likes" and "you knows" and that kind of thing. That way, while you gain precious seconds to think of a backup plan, the excuse recipient has time to imagine exactly what it is you're talking about.
    3. He or she may come up with something completely different from what you intended- but don't correct them. Just nod and agree and move along.

    For example:

    Example:
I am wandering the halls because I told my teacher I had to go to the bathroom, then I ran to my locker on the other side of school to get something vital for my class that I forgot.
    A teacher approaches.
"What are you doing out of class, young man?"
"Oh, well you know- we're like- in Tech Ed- it's- you know, the-"
"Oh, right, the graphing project. Go ahead!" The teacher laughs and nods and waves me away.

I'm not kidding. This happens like twice a week for me, and it has never failed yet.
Of course, it won't work for trying to skip a day of work...but it's good advice for all those in school or just on a day-to-day basis who get caught in a place they shouldn't be.
It is so much easier to let other people invent excuses for you. And more fun, at that.

I just use the emergency gynocologist appointment excuse. Most bosses, especially if they're male, won't even touch that.
