    Specific Wording for Structural Dividing

Discussion in 'General Writing' started by ToBeInspired, Jan 25, 2019.

What is the proper terminology for a series being split up such as this?
Each "mini-series" would have 3 books which each have 3 chapter breaks. An arc would be 6 books or 2 mini-series. I would also like an overall name for the entire project. Are arcs, series, chapter breaks, etc. the best word choice for something such as this? I've seen books being split into breaks simply titled "Book X," but I always thought that didn't make too much sense. For my Arcs, it would be different time zones and characters but using the same world. Any ideas?

"Arc" is more of a web series thing, and basically means "season" without implying it will run between certain dates.

I know exactly what you're talking about, and what I do is this: I write a dark fantasy series, however, I refer to the mini-series and story arcs each respectively as epic fantasy "cycles", nyaa
