Topic Sentence, or What's Your Plot?

Discussion in 'Word games' started by sorites, Jul 1, 2009.

Here's a fun little exercise for anyone writing a story. Here's how it works:

Just fill in the blanks with your own story details, like so:

    Try it!

I'm not sure why this got moved. =/ It's not a word game. It's a writing exercise meant to help you develop a focused plot. If you can't summarize the plot of your novel in a single sentence like this, chances are it's too unfocused and may be confusing to the reader (and it might be more difficult to write too).

Word Games on this site range from silly pastimes to thought-provoking quick writing exercises.

In general, new threads that operate as interactive or serial exercises get moved to Word Games, to keep the focus in Writing Issues on discussion topics.
