Its an abnormal extremely strong feeling of fear and shock even in real life, like looking at a car crash. I understand from your profile Horror is your thing so, probably you know much more than myself. Splitting Genres is common with Horror, but often collides with Thriller. Examples like the ALIEN movie or JAWS perhaps. Horror or Thriller? Monsters, gore, killers all appear in Game of Thrones and LOTR written works and yet I’d never class any of them as horror. Its Hard-Core Sci-Fi with a horror theme. Never seen it done before, this well. Worth a real look with it splitting genres. Iain Banks another favourite wrote the WASP FACTORY. Short novel, but that’s horror from a FP POV. And American Psycho by Brett Easton Ellis, didn’t lead me to be a banker as such, but an amazing piece of work. Maybe re-word the question.
