Hello, everyone... Obviously, I'm a newbie. I stumbled across a forum here in my search for whether or not my character could feasibly survive a rather dramatic injury to his throat... I'm pleased to announce he survived. I'm one of those writers who struggles greatly with socializing, particularly when it concerns sharing any of my writing or what I deem to be the 'deep, dark secrets' of the mind from whence the majority of my writing comes - it's really not all that dark, but I have few people in my life who I would trust not to judge me. As such, I've been pretty much a closet writer for the past decade. But I'm beginning to realize I really need be in touch with more writers. I'm hoping to get to know you all, and perhaps get the kick in the butt I need to boost my confidence and get some major progress done on this novel I've been fiddling with for three years. This novel I suppose would be classified as a bit of 'spec fiction', though the majority of my writing has been young adult fantasy and cheesy modern 'chick lit'. I've never been published, and though that's not an immediate writing goal, I of course hope that perhaps someday I'll finally finish something I deem worthy enough to put out there... We'll see! Some basics: In the real world, I have three jobs and I'm taking three online classes, and come this summer I'm hoping to have my associates so I can transfer to a university nearby and work toward my bachelor's in either history, anthropology, or possibly geology. I live in a camper (love it!), have boxer/pitt mix named Duke (love him!), and am currently binging on a Doctor Who marathon (obsessed!). Anywhoo.... I'm looking forward to getting to know other humans.... I'll likely be lurking a bit to get the clime of a thread prior to posting.... See you around!
