Basically, have a script where the opening shows us our bad guy, who we later learn is on a revenge mission. I wanted to hint at it in the opening scene by having him whistle a song about revenge, preferably opera. And it must be something in the public domain. Any ideas?
Strauss's Elektra comes to mind as the ultimate revenge opera. I think it is in public domain but don't swear to it. Would be easy enough to find out with a little research.
This is a good one. Know of any others? The guy is trying to get revenge for his wife being killed, so if there's something similar to that, that would be even better. I know it's very specific, lol.
Don Giovanni is about a womanizer who finally gets his just desserts. The father of a woman he seduced drags him to hell. Don Giovanni had killed him earlier but I guess that wasn't enough to dodge justice.
Well, there is Tosca (Puccini) who committed murder to save her lover from execution and herself from ravishment, but that didn't turn out very well for her. She stabbed the bad guy, but her lover was executed anyway and she committed suicide by jumping out of a window. I think. Can't recall exactly. Type "revenge killings in opera" into your server and see what you come up with.
