    An interesting dinner...

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by ValianceInEnd, Jul 1, 2008.

So today I was at my favorite sushi restaurant here in Arizona, Shiro, enjoying the amazing food that only the can provide. My father and I had some deliciously sweet sushi rolls and the cooks brought us their heads fried on a platter. I plopped one in mouth and it was pretty tasty, so I more vigorously chowed into the next one. As I crunched on the pretty hard shell, I felt a sudden pain in the roof of my mouth. When I had swallowed everything I realized a good sized piece of shrimp shell was embedded in the top of my mouth. Since it was too small to get my fingers around I had to sit around for about 20 minutes before I could get home and pluck it out. I've learned two lessons from this:
    1. I should eat slower.
    2. Some shrimp are fighters to the end. :p

    Oh goodness!

    Sorry to hear that, friend!!

However, shrimp heads....Not sure I could do that. But I'm wimpy with food. It's the one thing that keeps me off shows like Survivor. :0)

Haha, thanks. Once it was out, it bled a bit but feels just fine now.

Survivor? Oh man, they don't eat things half as worse as Fear Factor. :p

I don't think I could ever eat anything like that. In primary school <I was 6> they tried to make me eat snails and frogs legs. My mom let me have that week off school. Like heck was I going to eat something that belongs in the garden!!!! ><

The most adventurous I have been is to eat scallops. I liked them the first time round, now I can't even put them to my mouth without gagging. I'm the worlds biggest whimp when it comes to strange food. :p

First, the reviewer in me had to laugh. Do you realize that you never mentioned shrimp until about 2/3 of the way through the story? Which made this clause quite interesting reading:
All I could picture was a couple of headless sushi chefs presenting platters to you...

However, I can believe that the shells would have sharp points, and also that the fried shrimp heads would be amazingly tasty. I'd like to try that sometime, but I am now adequately forewarned to be careful.

Woops! That does come across as a bit... awkward. Thanks for pointing it out! :p

And fried shrimp is quite tasty, but yes, you have been warned. It's not a 'soft' food.

I can't eat anything that comes out of the sea... >_>

A friend of mine once chipped their tooth eating pizza, though. o_O

    Food - it's dangerous!

The sea makes some of the best food though!

Haha, yeah. Food is a dangerous thing. You can choke, chip teeth, and even over indulge yourself so that one day you'll die of clotted arteries. :p
