How do you engage your readers?

Discussion in 'Research' started by Mish, Oct 28, 2023.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking about creating a place for my readers where I can interact with them and discuss their thoughts about my work. So I'm looking for advice. (hopefully from members who have already done something similar)

There are some choices for consideration:

    1. Creating a reader forum and attaching to author website
    2. Creating a social media space for the readers
    3. Creating social media groups (e.g WhatsApp) and keeping all interactions in there
    4. Other realistic options?

What reader engagement / interaction process worked for you?

Thank you, I will check it out! Apart from this resource, do you engage with your readers else where?

Well, I don't have readers as I am not published. But I think you'll find Goodreads worthwhile. Are you familiar with the site? They have over 140 million members worldwide.

I'm familiar with the website, but I prefer to interact with my readers via a different platform

Standard practice for self published authors is to use a mailing list and newsletter, the trouble with using social media is that when said site changes its policies you can lose all the contacts
