How close should the age of the MCs be compared to the age category of a novel? While as author you might want to experiment or simply feel different about what age your MCs should be, whenever I hear or read about pitching a novel for publishing in a specific genre, the general assumption is that the age of MCs match that of age category of the audience they are intended for. Is this just my impression? Could you share your knowledge or thoughts about this?
