I got this review from Online bookclub and decided it was inane, but there was no category to check for silly. 1. "The slats fell out from under the mattress, and it folded in over her." The pronoun "it" is used incorrectly. The correct word should be "the mattress" chapter 1 page 3 2. "I grabbed a handful and squeezed it into a ball, feeling the good earth between my fingers." The pronoun "it" is used incorrectly. The correct word should be "the soil" chapter 4 page 19 The sentence before this was... The rich and black soil would be great for planting.
I do not see any issues with your original sentences. Correcting them according to the reviewer would make them repetitive and look amateurish in my opinion. Perhaps they are new in giving reviews and really thought those were mistakes? I would just move on.
Ignore it*. Anyone with half a brain could see the inanity. *The pronoun "it" is used incorrectly. The correct word should be "the review".
