please need kidnapping help

Ok so what i want to do is actually a kidnapping attempt first.
the characters involved is:
a cop dad (who knows nothing of people having powers), his two daughters jenny the 18yr who has rock powers
10yr Ellie who has plant powers.
Brittney 18yr friend of Jenny who has turning into a cat power.
then two typical men in black badguy types are in the mix 1 more talkative and charming while the other quite and wellbuilt muscle type who follows along usually with what his partner wants.
I want the MIB to try to kidnap Ellie in a area where there are no plants around for ellie to use to protect herself, (everyone but Ellie know she is being targeted to be kidnapped even the dad though he doesn't know the reason why).
( so i am thinking at it happening at a shopping centre, they spilt up jenny and Brittney going to the fruitshop while Ellie goes with her dad on his instance to the general store, so when the kidnapping attempt happens ellie gets split of from her father at the shops also but ultimately i want it to be Jenny's Dad the cop is the one who comes in and runs the kidnappers off at the last moment.
so that's later the the kidnappers decide to take him out of the picture from stopping them by beating him up later that night while he's working a night shift by sending a prank call for him to check out and they pounce ( so jen and ellie feel responsible)
The problems being:
1.i don't have any idea how to separate ellie from her dad at the shops
2. I don't know how to have the kidnappers to smartly attempt to kidnap ellie
2.1 cause they want to A) keep a low profile through out the kidnapping process especially in a public place like a shopping centre, B) what would be their a clean exit plan? because they want to leave as soon as they have Ellie etc
3.how do i make it so non-powered dad who ok maybe has is gun on him but still...) he saves her but the badguys escape him
