Can someone recomend some books on writting essays in the style of someone like David Foster Wallace? I'm new to writing and not really sure where to start. Thanks guys.

There aren't any books (that I know of) on how to write essays in a particular style. You should just read DFW's essays and learn from that.

On a related note, I think it's important for every writer to eventually develop his/her own style.

Read George Orwell's essays, and Chris Hitchen's essays. The best way to learn something is to learn from the best.
