This is driving me crazy. The tune that comes in at around the 30 second mark in this song is from something but I can’t think what. I think it’s possibly one of those sci-fi shows from the 70s but I can’t be sure. It’s only that element of the song, I’ve checked the wiki page and it’s none of the suggestions on there.
You may want to clarify what part you mean. Is it just a few seconds or is it repeated throughout the track? There's a part that sounds similar to the Knight Rider theme, but that came later. You could try reddit r/tipofmytongue
That part reminds me of the Twilight Zone intro. I don't think it's an actual sample, whosampled.com doesn't list any borrowed samples and I saw an interview where Cerrone discussed making the track and he seems to imply he came up with everything himself. It's still possible it sounds very similar to some other theme music or bumper music.
For what it's worth, that part reminds me a lot of this part of the song by the KLF which came about 10-15 years later:
That does sound similar but it’s not it. Each time I listen to it I’m more and more convinced it was a sci-fi type show from when I was a kid. Something like The Stone Tapes or The Tomorrow People...
