The spirit of the season, the feeling that all things are possible? It may not be true for everyone but I have always felt that one specific date was ....???? special, holy, sacred, off-limits for some things such as violence...... bah....for an aspiring writer I am having a really difficult time trying to put this into words. I have simply always felt that the day (December 25th) was the one day of the year when NOTHING bad or negative was allowed to happen.
Seeing my family. It's a bit different now me and my brother and sister are all technically adults and live in three different places, but it's not Christmas till I'm with them. And snow. Snow is another thing that makes me feel like Christmas can really happen.
I’m neither a regular churchgoer nor extremely religious but the sound of the bells on Christmas Eve when I manage to go to the evening service always touches something inside of me. And the peace and quiet of the two days after Christmas Eve (25. + 26.). Everything slows down, all you have to do is occupy yourself with your presents, eat tasty things and have a merry and comfortable time with your loved ones.
